Hi Robert, Remove the control panel back cover and unplug the touch pad ribbon from the control board (ERC). Power up the range and monitor it for a few hours. If the error code will come back then replace the control board. If the error code would not come back then the membrane switch has to be replaced. - The part number for the control board (ERC) is AP172494 - The part number for the membrane switch (black) is AP93441 Here are the break down diagrams for the Amana range Model ARTSC8650EGene.

I had the same problem as the original poster and I followed the advice is this thread...
I disconnected the membrane switch and F-1 message and the beeping stopped. Relieved it was only the $100 part, I ordered and installed the switch and within an hour the stove was showing F-1 and beeping again. Oh well, the new switch is prettier than the old one.
I ordered and installed the control board along with the new switch and within an hour the stove was showing F-1 and beeping again. Oh well, the clock display is much brighter than the old one.
Do you have any other suggestions for what the problem with my stove might be?

Hi Gene! Thanks for your fast reply!
brand: Amana model: ACS7270AS
The beeping seems to be in a pattern: 7-long, 1-short, repeat

According to the tech sheets for this model the "F1" error code means "Shorted input pad" and correction is to replace the membrane switch. Because you already installed the new one it is possible: 1. you bought a wrong part, or 2. the new part is defective. What is the part number for the new switch? Gene.

Turns out I initially ordered the wrong part for the membrane switch. I should have noticed that it looked slightly different with some additional writing over a few of the buttons. How frustrating.
Thank you for helping me diagnose the problem.

I feel sorry for this mistake. Hopefully the new part will solve the problem.
Gene.
