We own a GE clothes washer, model WWA8600GBLAD. I bought a replacement water pump, part number WH23X42. But I am seeing the bolts that hold the old pump in place are very hard to get to. I do not see a very easy way to get a wrench back there to take off the nuts. The bolts are behind the pump with very little access. So I am wondering whether there is a special tool that is used to unscrew the nuts from the bolts and then tighten the nuts for the new pump.

Anyone have any advise. Thanks much.

I have not replaced a pump in recent years on that model, which is an older version of the GE washer.

There is a manual you can buy that is specific for these GE models. I would call the APP parts folks and see if they have one in stock they can sell you. It will be good to have since with the age of your machine you may need to make other repairs in the future.
