Refrig. Evap. fan cycles on & off, compressor doesn't start. Turn thermostat to off then on everything starts and runs the compressor draws 2 amps get hot and cycling starts again. What should the current draw be on this unit, surely more than 2 amps at start up. OH, did I mention that this little house is on a Photo-Voltaic system with a 2kw inverter for the whole system. Voltage at receptacle is 116 volts @ 60htz.
Total available current for the house is 17.25 amps. My thoughts are that there is not enough current available to run this appliance. Comments please.

Was thanked: 2 time(s) in 2 post(s)
I would measure the outlet voltage while the compressor is acting up.

I did it, was 116v @ 2amps What should the current draw be for this little unit, start and run? I have no specs to go by, the owner manual recommends a 15 to 20 amp circuit for this unit by itself.
