The control knobs on my cooktop have frozen, can't push them in. Do I need to replace the whole stem, or can I just replace the valve switch?

The cause of the problem is a stuck middle cone inside the gas burner valve. Correction is to replace such gas burner valve. Here are the break down diagrams for the Jenn Air stove Model JGD8130ADBGene.
