I am looking for a dryer belt for an older Whirlpool. The model number says 1LRE6700W0; however, none of the databases I search online or in stores has been able to come up with that model number. Does anyone have any suggestions on how or where I could get a replacement belt?
Thanks for the help, Kirk

Since you cannot find anything on the model number I would take the old belt to a local parts supply house or repair shop.
If you get a good counter person they should be able to match it up for you. |

Thanks for the suggestion; however, the old belt was shredded so I cannot take it in for comparison. My only other thought was to use a rope to find the length of the belt and maybe that would help.
Thanks again, Kirk

That may be your only option.
Take a chunk of the old belt with you so you get the correct width and number of ribs on it.
When using your rope be sure to use a type that does not stretch. Also make sure that you thread it correctly and that there is tension on it from the idler wheel. This is probably going to be a pain.
Carefully inspect the back of the old belt perhaps you can find a manufacturers number on it, if there are any un-shredded sections. If you can but it is very light a little bit of spit often makes it more legible.
You could also try calling the parts people at AppliancPartsPros, they may have info that is not listed on the website.
Good luck. |

Thanks for all the advice. I did try talking to the people at AppliancePartsPros and they were unable to come up with anything, but I had my dad call around to appliance stores in his area and someone was able to come up with a belt. Hopefully it will work. If not I guess I will have to try the rope.
Thanks again, Kirk
