My ice maker doesn't dispense ice through the door. The ice maker is functioning and makes plenty of ice. The dispenser dispenses water just fine and sometimes it dispenses crushed ice, but it will not dispense just plain ice. Any thoughts on what part needs replacement?

Can you be more specific here, please?

Gene,

Thanks for the response. If you move the toggle switch on the front of the refrigerator from "water" mode to "crushed ice" mode on occasion you will get some crushed ice. Not always. If you move the toggle to "whole Ice" you get nothing at all. There is a humming/buzzing noise, but no ice movement. The ice maker is making tons of ice and the water pressure is very strong.

The first thing you may want to do is check the solenoid (#378 on the diagram). It may be frozen.

If there is nothing wrong I would recommend to replace this solenoid and the dispenser control board.

- The solenoid Part number: AP2071947

Thanks Gene--would the best way to determine if the solonoid is frozen to defrost the freezer?

The best (and quickest) way is to get to the part, but if you have problems with that you can defrost the freezer.
