Dishwasher will fill with water & drain, but no washing. We pulled it out due to the repairman telling us it would cost $450 to repair. We put in an estate sale dishwasher & it initially didn't work either. Pulled this 2nd dishwasher & found that the water supply line had a safety valve in it & was blocked. We changed that hose & 2nd dishwasher worked fine. We didn't like the "estate sale" dishwasher, due to size & noise level. We pulled it out & put the Whirlpool back in ... Water in & water out...nothing else.
Any ideas?
We've called Whirlpool several times & can get no help, they're computers are always down. (How convenient). They've referred us to a local repairman, which says sounds like wash motor, but will cost $450. We cannot get anyone to come out to get a warranty part (should be 2 years). Repairman are also concerned why Whirlpool isn't handling. Somethings not right!
I just want the dishwasher to work. We bought it in April 2006.
HELP!!!! I'm getting dish pan hands!!!!

Hi mhedges168
According to your description the problem could be one of two parts: the motor on the wash pump or the control board. Your dishwasher is much less then two years old and both of these parts are still under limited manufacturer warranty. Whirlpool must provide the parts free of charge to you. You are liable only for the labor charge to replace them and it should be much less then $450.
Good luck. Gene.
