I tested the three microswitches and the top one is always shorted. What part number to I buy? Any tips on replacing the switch itself?

You may get by with it for a while, but as things wear, you will certainly get it when the switches are even the slightest bit out of synch, and the fuse will blow.

I opened it while it was off and the fuse blew. This is a well known, common problem and is indicative of a bad interlock switch. All I need to know is the part number of the top switch and some instructions, if possible, on how to replace it.

There are two different part numbers for this switch: the original interlock switch Part number: AP2024331 or the substitute interlock switch Part number: AP3186054 You can use either one.
