I just odred and received a new pump and motor for my maytag dishwasher. Part #6-904608 which is made my whirlpool.
On the new unit the lower wash arm fits but the jump up nozzle won't and the wash arm cap will not, the nut is too small it fit it. and the new unit has something sticking up not allowing the jump up nozzle to fit.
Called Appliance pro guys they don't know.
The part # for the wash arm cap has not changed.
Anybody know anything about this, or have any ideas?

I would try to use the strainer and the spray arm support (#4 & #9 on the diagram) from the old pump.

I was thinking about that. I can't return it if I take it apart and it doesn't work.

Ok, I took old pump apart and removed parts and intaslled tnem in the new pump. I have a very small leak at the pump gasket.
I tightened it up as must as it can, it is lined up right,
Should i install some plumbers grease on seal?

Thanks

Sorry for the delay.

The new pump gasket should be lubricated prior to installation. The best stuff to use is a few drops of liquid dishwasher soap. It is very important to place the new gasket around the pump in the right position (exactly how it was on the old pump) and note the alignment mark on the pump (see the attached picture).
