Was wondering if anyone can help. I have this a frigidaire front loader model GLTF1670AS0. During spin cycle, it began to make very load noise. Being somewhat handy, and no longer a warranty on it, I decided to take the back off. I looked at the schematic diagrams and read many a blog where the spiders are cracking.
Playing around with mine, I dont think the spider cracked. When I hold the drive pulley in place i can not create and movement in the tub itself vertically. the only thing I have noticed so far, is that if i grab the pulley there is some lateral movement, maybe about a quarter to half inch of movement. I am thinking, when its in spin mode, this movement is causing the noise and teh drums slides back and forth.
I was wondering if I might be right on that. Is the shaft suppose to be preseed onto the bearing? If so, do you think the shaft is worn? Or more likely the bearing. There is no leakage, so I an thinking the lip seal is ok.
Any advice from those far more experienced?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

On these models the rear bearing regularly fails, and the replacement is sold as a combined part with the rear tub, this part here. Part number: AP2578105
This is rediculous that these fails and cost so much, but they do, and my advice is to replace rather than repair.
