The microwave heats fine but when I turn it on it makes a rattling sound. It's not coming from the turntable but rather the top of the unit.

Would it make the same noise if you run the exhaust fan only?

No, when I run just the exhaust fan it does not make the rattling noise.

Most likely the problem is a bad stirrer fan motor (#60 on the diagram).
