Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 5/4/2010(UTC) Posts: 2		*electric dryer* 1. first it started to squeek-thought it was the belt 2. started making rummbling noises but ran 3. started squealing when I pressed the button to start but would rev up and finally start 4. Then would squeal and then not start. 5. After a couple of hours or sometimes a day would start roughly. 6. Surprise! Can't get it to work. Just makes noises like it might and then won't. Full. 7. Checked and it run with no load but not with a load. Have to wait till the thermal protection cools down to get it to attempt to start again. 8. Now it starts and runs with a very light load with no noise besides the normal hum. 9. The model number doesn't show up on the list. 10. Commercial/coin operated dryers are the closest to our number. What do we do now?:confused:

Perhaps the following will help http://www.applianceaid.com/dryers.html Often rumbling is a bad rear drum support roller. Try turning the drum by hand it should turn fairly easily. You may want to try this on a couple other dryers to get a feel for it. If it turns OK then odds are your motor is on it's last legs. If difficult to turn then you will have to open it up and see what is causing this. Prime suspects are drum seals, rear support rollers, worn out front glides (pieces of plastic that the front of the drum rides on) or the belt's idler wheel. You may as well also check the belt. Give the interior including the blower wheel a good cleaning. Also a good time to clean/check your vent systenm.
