Okay, so the lower rotating arm won't rotate, so I removed the outlet pump cover and got down to the drain and wash impeller. I need to get this off so I can get the screw I dropped out from under the pump. Anyway, how do I get the drain and wash impeler off. I removed the screw, and the impeller turns freely, but I can't tell how to get it off/out. I would like to clean the filter screen while I'm at it but don't know if there is one. Don't see one in the exploded diagram I got off the internet. So that's where I'm at, HELP!

Hi dragonlady In most cases it's not possible to remove the wash impeller without breaking it in pieces. If you really want to do it you have to have the new impeller kit (#11, #19 or #24 on the pump & motor break down diagram). If the pump is not leaking and it moves freely it does not need any service. One of the most common cause for the lower spray arm not to spin properly is insufficient amount of water inside the dishwasher. Check the water shut off valve under the sink to see if it's open all the way. If this not an issue then the water inlet valve (#16 on the tub assembly break down diagram) has to be replaced. - The part number for the new water inlet valve AP3010773 - The part number for the new impeller kit AP3115180- The break down diagrams for the Whirlpool dishwasher Model DU8700XY4Good luck. Gene.
