i need to replace the burner control switch and wanted to know if there's any way to do this without having to remove the cook top from the counter,

Thanks for the info. I noticed in the manual that for the cook top removal it says to shut off the gas supply but nothing about disconnecting it. Are they assuming that I'll know to do that as well?

Sorry but I do not know if you will have to disconnect the gas line, somehow I would doubt it if the mains is shut off.
