i left the frig door ajar overnight. when i returned home the next morning, it was and still is making a loud noise/humming noise. freezer appears to b e working normal, but i don't think refrig compartment is cooling normal. noise stops when i turn the frig compartment off from inside the frig. do you think this is a fire hazard to keep the frig compartment running until i get it looked at? do the freezer and frig work off of seperate coils/compressors?

Here are your parts Replacement parts for General Electric TBX24JISHRWH Refrigerator | AppliancePartsPros.comNeed more info on what kind of noise. Could be one of the fans is going. You have two. One in the freezer (evaporator fan). If this one is running slow or starting to go it will have a large effect on your units operation. It is required to pull air through the evaporator coils to cool it properly. It also circulates the air in both the freezer and fresh food sections. On at the back bottom by the compressor (condenser fan). If this is going your unit will probably run a lot more often as the heat from the refrigeration process is not being dissipated as it should. |
