hello,
my landlord replaced my thru the wall ac unit in my apartment because when the compressor trys to start cooling it wont engage. it just dims the lights and kicks off and goes back to fan. the second unit, a white westinghouse is doing the same thing. compressor trys to come on, lights dim for 3 seconds and then it disengages and goes back to fan. my landlord is clueless and claim unit works fine. both units are over 10 yrs old. what could possibly be wrong? any help would be greatly appreciated. Bill

Both units doing the same thing? That must be an electrical problem. Bad breaker, wiring or receptacle.
