I'm dealing with the same problem right now with my Whirlpool Top Loader LSB6300LW0. I am no expert but I have been on this for about 3 days doing research in other forums. I have tested switches and at the point where I have ordered a new timer. I shoud have it by the weekend and will put in in and hope it solves my problem. Mine was very easy to take apart.

I put in a new timer and it didn't help so I looked at all the connections more closely and found a burnt off wire at the motor thermal overload.
