I have the same problem as a number ofpeople it seems - refrigerator has ice in the door, but no water. Is it possible that by turning the freezer completely off for a few days it might resolve? Is there some permanent fix to this?

I have a GE model # gsl25jfpjbs; serial # dh200088. the indoor water dispenser does not put out water any more. However, the two ice dispensers still work. I have heard it is possible for the water line to freeze within the door on some GE models. I tried turning down the freezer temp to one for two days, no difference. Do I need to turn it completely off? Is there some other issue I need to address, or must I call a repairman? thanks for any help

First thing you want to do is determine if the line is frozen in the door. Take off the toe kick, and locate the waterline that comes from the door...Disconnect the waterline close freezer door and call for water at the dispenser, if water comes out the line you just disconnected, the line is frozen in the door, if water does not come out of the line you disconnected, the problem is elsewhere...Post results
