Only half the water goes into the ice tray, the other half goes down the inside wall (between the inside of the freezer and the outside of the frig) it puddles in the freezer and ice-crisper. Could their be a bad connection inside somewhere?

sounds like a problem with the ice maker fill tube. either its not seated directly into the ice maker fill cup. Ive also seen on some models that the fill tube is not fully enclosed, but instead the top half of the cylinder is open, to prevent fill tube from freezing with ice, and this coupled with high water pressure to the fridge, causes the "spiraling" effect of the water to flow out through this split, and into places it is not designed. Without personal inspection, i cant say with any certainty what type of refrigerator repair you require.
