My Maytag Atlantis Gas Dryer (Model MDG7400AWW, S/N 19535619CL) timer is working intermittently as far as being able to turn the dryer on. You can make it work by applying pressure on angles as you pull it through its motion. It seems like a contact surface must be worn which only allows for contact when you pull on the know at an angle. 1. Does it sound like the timer needs to be replaced. 2. If so, what part number do I need to buy...AppliancePartsPros.com lists two different parts. 3. How do you get the knob off?
Also, I saw in a previous post that someone had the repair manual for an older Maytag series of Dryers; does anyone have it for this one.
Thank you in advance for any help or advice.
