:confused:dont know how old this model is but it worked for a while. anyhow.... ive been havin problems with my freever buildin up frost in the rear of the freezer and my stuff thawing, it aint cold enough in the freezer. ive replaced the thermistat and the flap to the frige to alow cool air tto the frige. i think it could be the timer stickin and not syclin right. when i had this proble befor i manualy thawed it and put the new parts in and it worked great now its doin it again. any help is great besides the "get a new frige" thing. thanks.

Hi Bear, Locate the defrost timer (#5 on the controls break down diagram) and, using a flat screwdriver, slowly turn the shaft in the middle of the defrost timer CW until it clicks to switch from the cooling cycle to the defrost cycle. Wait about 10 to 15 minutes, open the freezer door and see if you can hear a sizzling noise. Post the results. Here are the break down diagrams for the Amana refrigerator Model TJ18R3WGene.

for some reason the freezer is freezin again. i already replaces the thermostat so you think it could still be the heater?

the defrost thermo. the one behined the back of the freezer. it does not hiss or make any noise when it shuts down.
