I was able to get the cover to the evaporator coil from my renter. It has been about a week since I have done anything with the refrigerator. I think I mentioned earlier that the evaporator coil had frost on it but I didn't have the evaporator cover so I am assuming that was probably normal. After getting the cover the first thing I did was turn the refrigerator back on and to my surprise it tripped my GFI breaker. I hadn't done anything to the refrigerator but turn it off, so I am a little confused as to why it started tripping the breaker. I decided to turn the refrigerator control to Zero and the freezer control to 5 midrange and it stopped tripping the breaker but as soon as I turn the refrigerator control off zero it trips the breaker again. At this point I am not sure why it's tripping the breaker since I haven't done anything but turn it off when I noticed the frost building up on the evaporator coil (without the cover). I still haven't put the cover on yet, I thought I would do it after the refrigerator was running. I have left the refrigerator on with the freezer setting at 5 and the refrigerator setting at zero. I don't know if the freezer will start running without the refrigerator setting at zero but I am waiting to see if it will.

I just decided to check one more thing. I disconnected one side of the defrost thermostat just to see if anything in the defrost circuit was causing the breaker to trip but it still trips the breaker so I am assuming the problem is somewhere else and I just don't understand why since I have done absolutely nothing to the refrigerator except turn it off.

I decided to try one more thing I disconnected the defrost timer and the refrigerator now stays on. The problem I have is I didn't do anything to the defrost timer. I rechecked the way it was suppose to be connected and I had it connected correctly before. According to the schematic description I have a "Version 2" cumulative compressor run application. The loose wire from the defrost timer gets connected to terminal #2. The schematic does not show the loose wire on the defrost timer, the description says it is the timer motor lead. But if it worked before why now is it tripping the breaker.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
