Dryer runs for a bit with good heat and everything and then cuts off. I can restart it after a brief cool down, and it will run for a bit and then cut off again. I vacuum out the lint screen after EACH use and check the outside vent weekly. Someone thought the motor was going. The limited brain that I have says thermostat. Any suggestions without having to buy several different parts? Thanks!

Probably bad motor bushings. Just pull apart and check for lateral play in the bushings. If so, just call this parts site for motor. Also, you will probably need to chop out the blower as it will be frozen to the motor shaft. I use a wood chisel to do this.

Ok, I took the back off of the dryer and vacuumed everything. There was very little lint in it after only 6 years of use. I put the temperature switch on low instead of medium and so far the thing has run flawlessly. Do you still think it is the motor thing? Is there a way to actually TEST the parts before I start playing part roulette?

You can go to web site www.applianceaid.com for take apart info. Just pull the front panel off and the drum, and check the motor.
