Hello everyone.

I'm sure this is a topic that has beeen beaten to death, but i did a search and didn't come up with much. Looks like i need an exact model #.

My agitator in my Whirlpool model 17BJ129 (3B) is working, but going bad. It's about 10 years old. It does seem to be louder than normal while the agitator is in use. The spin cycle still works although there is a time or two when the laundry is still a little wet. It doesn't look like the agitator is moving very much, and i can put my hand into the washer and tell the lower part of the agitator isn't moving well either.

My last washer did the same thing and i was told it was the transmission. They said it would cost more to repair than to replace.

Is it the dogs that usually go out in these? If so, how do i get the agitator off so i can check the dogs? What would be the part #s i would need to fix this, and where would i get the parts?

Sorry for all the questions. THX, Jerry.
