It was ok for about a month. but it happened again. and I defrosted again but 4days after it happened again. do I need to replace defrost timer? where is it? someone said it is incorporated in the mother board in the back. another said it is in the control board in the fresh food section inside the refrig. who is right? what should I do? and do I have to replace heater and thermostat again when I replace the timer? Neither is right, there is no defrost timer, and the board is located at the back of the cabinet, you need to pull the refer out to get access to the access panel where the board is located. Please provide serial# also, can you give me the GE part# you used to replace the heater, and I will help you with your problem, I am a GE tech for 8 years now

Do you have a volt meter? If so take the wires off the heater and take an ohm reading of the heater to see if it is good or not
