I have read the forums and know that no heat in my gas dryer means that either the thermal fuse has blown or the ignitor is bad. Since I don't have an ohm meter, I thought I would just replace both. However, some people have said that if you replace the fuse, you should also replace the thermostat. I don't mind doing this as it's a big pain to pull my dryer out to get to the back, so I only want to do it once. However, which thermostat is it? There are two listed on the parts page - one that is by the fuse, called the dryer cycling thermostat (part no. AP3115922) and one near the blower wheel - Part number AP3134945.

We're here to help you slove your appliance problems, but the whole idea is to do it in a way that saves you the maximum amount of money. If you have a friendly neighbor, or perhaps a family member, who has a meter, and can do a few simple electrical tests, we can lead you through the diagnosis. This will be a lot better than throwing parts at the repair in hopes that one of them will make the machine work.

Fair enough. I'll go pick one up from Radio Shack. My old one got water in it somehow and corroded.
