This upright freezer has been building up frost/ice along the top edge, so I figured I needed a new gasket, which I ordered. I ordered and received part AP2113451. On measuring the current gasket I fine that the new one is slightly smaller. The current gasket is 27 3/8 x 54 1/2. The new gasket is 27 x54. Is there some stretch in the gasket that I can pull to fit the door? The gasket is secured by a screw-channel on all sides of the door.
Unfortunately, I've thrown the shipping carton away, so the gasket will be difficult to return. What is your advice?

did you submerse the gasket in hot water for a while to soften it up a bit?
