I replace the control module on the icemaker because it stopped making ice and I had tested the ice sensor and the water valve and both checked out ok. When it quit making ice, the mold did not have any water in it. After replacing the control module, the ice maker called for water and the mold filled with water and froze, however, it never ejected the cubes. I see that there is a thermostat in the parts diagram. Could that be the problem?

You should have just replaced your ice maker in its entirety. these are not easy to take apart and more importantly, put back together exactly, or they wont work correctly, and could in fact cause water damage to your property.

How did you test your optics?

well, that optics test only tests the optics of the transmitter and receiver boards, it does not test the functionality of the boards in any way. The mere fact that you dont have power to the ice maker indicates to me that the original problem lies within these boards, failing to supply power to the ice maker, which is not uncommon. However, due to your previous repairs of the ice maker module, you may still have other problems if there were any errors in your repair attempts.
