Hi need help here. Refrigerator makes ice fine. but when push button on door light comes on and flapper opens and nothing comes out, not cube or ice. but dispense water fine. Checked harness at door hinge. seems fine. when button pushed for ice, it puts out 5vdc(checked at hinge connector). 12vdc comming in to dispenser board. What could be wrong. Any help would be apprecated.

Is this the model that has the wiring connection at the top of the freezer door, or at the bottom?

There is a loose connection up there, disconnect the harness, and on the refrigerator side plug get some needlenose pliers, and pinch the ends just a bit and reconnect. Those round ends over time will spread open far enough to not make contact with the pins on the other side of the plug, very simple fix..Keep me posted

Based on my experience, one of most common cause of such problem is a bad main control board which controls the dispenser functions.

Remove the "J7" plug from the control board and check for 120VAC between the "J7-1" (BK/WT) & "J7-9" (OR) terminals while the dispenser calls for ice.

If there is no 120VAC - replace the main control board.

- The part number for the main control board is AP3950129

I checked voltage at J7 pin 1 and 9. It does show 120vac when call for dispense ice. Only thing is if I remove plug it lose power at front panel. So I ckecked voltage while it was pluged to board. Is that output to dispenser motor? What should I check next?

If you pinched the wire connection at the top of the door, we can rule that out. Does the light inside the freezer go on and off when you play with the light switch? The auger motor goes through this switch. If the light switch seems ok, you either stil have a loose connection at the top hinge, or a bad augermotor. When you call for cubed ice, does the solenoid next to the auger motor activate?

Thanks for reply I will check sw when got back home and post my findings. How can I access solenoid and auger motor? is it inside the freezer? Do I need to remove any part of icemaker to access it. Also when call for ice if relay on main board is activating and putting out 120vac, you think there is still chance wire on top by hinge still not making good connection. I have no idea how this all fuctions.
