We have a Sears Coldspot Upright Freezer that we had in storage for a couple of years. We just got it out of storage, plugged it in and it does not freeze. It gets cold but not to freezing. Yes, we adjusted the cold setting in the freezer. No, we did not move the freezer on its side, it was always upright, except to tip it to move it with a dolly. There are no visible leaks on the floor of the storage place or our garage floor.

If the compressor is running but it's not cold enough, most likely the sealed system is low on Freon or there is a restriction in the system. You have to hire a pro for more specific diagnosis and/or repair.
