When the dispenser is pushed, no water. Ice maker and dispensing fine.. Water flows at coupling just prior to going up through the door. I assume it must be a swith in the dispenser mechanism in the freezer door. MY question, what is the most likely culprit? I will buy the part, take the freezer door apart and see if that fixes it. I have read all posts I could find on this subject.
Any suggestions/ help would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like the line is frozen. happened to me a few times. hair dryer to the door and eventually it will thaw. try turning down the temp in the freezer a little. i usually blow the air up into the water dispenser from the outside and then hit the middle of the freezer door from the inside. this usually does the trick pretty quickly. about 20 min and you should be good.

Thanks, I did read that on another thread. I tried it but possibly not long enough. I didn't notice when it happened, my step son just asked me one morning if I had turned the water off. I didn't notice any slow down in flow prior to the complete stop. I will give the hair dryer trick another shot for longer. This model had an original problem with the Ice freezing in the shute but GE replaced the doors with thicker ones on both refer and freeze side. That was a few years ago.
Thanks Tampa Bob
