I was checking out the freezer section and noticed a chunk of ice below the icemaker section. Upon inspecting the icemaker, I found the fill cup had fallen off and was sitting behind the icecube tray.

Nothing appears broken/cracked/deformed on the fill cup. Can someone give me instructions on how to re-attach?

Is the fill cup falling off a sign of another problem or is it something that sometimes happens?

As always, thanks for the help.

These fill cups either clip into the mold of the ice maker, very easy to reattach. Or it is literally molded to the plastic center ejector shaft, in which case it is broken off, and you'll need a new ice maker.

If yours clips in, these dont normally fall out by themselves, and they do lock into place if unbroken. I couldnt explain why it fell out without personal inspection.

Thanks for your input. I felt around and found the slot that the fill cup "tab" fits into. I reinstalled the cup, turned on the icemaker, and reset the icemaker by pushing in the lever 3 times. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.
