My electric dryer will initially start and run fine but after it runs for 20-30 minutes and the door has been opened it won't restart. Sometimes the timer won't run after the door has been opened and sometimes it will run but the dryer still won't start. It will start again after a cool down period.

Sounds like the motor thermal protector may be tripping, Things to check, disconnect the vent hose from the dryer an let it run, if it turns off again, then you know it is not the venting. make sure you do this with a wet load of clothes
