How hard would it be to retrofit a mechanical timer and associated faceplate/detergent release from an older whirlpool dishwasher to a newer one with electronic controls? It's kind of a long story but appliances with electronic controls don't work well in my home but I like this dishwasher and don't want to replace it. Unfortunately, I will not be able to keep it if I can't swap in a mechanical timer.

Thanks!

Someone must know the answer to this. OK, I'll tell you why I need to swap it - my house is off grid (solar powered) and the electronics in the DW and my power system do no agree. I have mechanical timers on my washer and dryer and they work fine.
