Hello All, Usually I'm answering questions on the site, so this will be my first request for help.
My uncle called me regarding his Maytag MDB6601AWS. He states that the LEDs on the console die out within a minute of starting the unit and the unit shuts down. He has to reset the unit to get the lights to come back on, but it'll do the same thing over and over.
I'm more familiar with the Bosch units, and I know that this would usually be a power supply problem or the control, but without a wire diagram/schematic I can't see how this unit works.
I'm thinking it may be a floating neutral which is causing the power to drop out when there's a load put on it, so that should be easy enough to check, but I was wondering if any members who are more familiar with Maytag might know what's going on here, or might know where I can find a wire diagram/manual.
Thanks in advance for any advise given.
KC

I'm mostly a Maytag man; and I have never come across this problem. A loose ground or a loose neutral can cause some pretty interesting symptoms. I would rule that out before committing to the control board. Don't neglect the door switch in your diagnosis. I think you'll find Maytags to be very simple.

Thanks, Magician.
I did find a wire diagram on this site and I saw that the power hits the board before and after the door switch on both the hot and neutral side, so I'll definitely be checking for power into/out of the switch after the unit has shut down.
Thanks again..
