Replacement of the drain hose is simple enough, but just don't feel like spending $15 plus shipping for a new part. I've knicked the hose so would like to just repair. What's the inside diameter of the hose? I'll insert a nipple - pvc, rubber, etc., and clamp.

I do not think it is a good idea because a such nipple will definitely affect the water flow and pressure inside the hose.

Also your nipple will be a spot where crud can collect and eventually it will plug the hose.
