Hi,

I have a 4+ year old GE EMO3000CBB02 Microwave, which stopped heating since a week or so. There is power supply to the unit, the fans and control panel are working alright. What could have gone bad?

Regards,
Sri.

Hi Sri,

If it does not make any unusual noise then the problem most likely is a bad magnetron.

- The part number for the magnetron is AP2025937

Here are the break down diagrams for the GE microwave Model EMO3000CBB02

Thanks Gene,

Is this (magnetron) something I can replace myself or should I go to a professional?

Regards,
Sri.

I would highly recommend a tech do it. Read the back of the owners manual for any warranty info

If you know how to handle simple tools and basic safety rules to work with electric parts you can do it.

Regarding the manufacturer warranty: the magnetron could have up to 10 years limited warranty what means you are liable for any labor and trip charges. You have to contact GE to find out the better way for you.
