Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 3/15/2010(UTC) Posts: 1		A few seconds after I turn on the burner in this ceramic top I can hear what sounds like a short circuit sound. In the back of the stove the infinite switch has black shade, in the other infinite switches the black is less, but noticeble.

Rank: Advanced Member Groups: Senior Expert Joined: 8/16/2007(UTC) Posts: 3,273		Check for a frayed or grounding hot wire. You can do this safely by unplugging the unit, and checking for continuity between the hot pegs in the cord, and chassis ground.
