The dryer just quit heating about 3 weeks ago, and I don't know how to test or what to test.

Check each of the components on back starting with the heating element. How? Using a Ohm Meter. Don't have a fancy smancy meter? Make a poor man's meter. Get a flash light and rig it where you can run a couple of wires out of it and by touching those 2 wires together the light comes on. Bingo you have a poor mans meter. Next yank a wire off of each thing you test so that you won't get a false loop reading. By removing a wire from each thing being tested you eliminate the old ghost circuits in appliances. Anything which does not cause that light to come on is DEFECTIVE! SublimeMasterJW attached the following image(s):
