My drum is no longer turning. I suppose the belt is broken or off, but I cannot figure out how to open the top or the front panel. It looks as if there are hinges for the top panel to lift up, but I can't figure out how to do this. I have called Maytag and searched the internet to no avail. Please help me if you can. Thanks. Using a putty knife (or similar tool), push in on the clips at the corners of the front, betwen the lid and front, and about 2" from each edge. At the same time, lift up on the lid. This will expose the hex head screws that hold the front panel on the cabinet. Once these are removed, you can now lift the front panel off the indexing clips on the sides of the cabinet. Be careful not to stretch or damage the wires that go to the door switch and the moisture sensor.
