I have a Whirlpool s/s refrigerator freezer. Over the past few months, the fridge door gradually lagged more and more in shutting itself, and now it's stays at whatever angle we open it at. I'm sure we are costing ourselves more money when we don't happen to notice when it's not shut all the way.

I would like to know if this is something fairly simple to fix on my own, and if so, if I could get almost step-by-step instructions on how to do this. I did look at the bottom hinge area, and it looks like there is some wear/chipping on a black plastic piece that is sandwiched between 2 metal pieces (sorry, I don't know the names of the pieces!).

Thanks in advance for any help!

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for ED5FHG models | AppliancePartsPros.com

Could be that one of the cams is broken.
Either Item 5 is Section 3 or Item 11 in Section 6.

You may want to replace both.
