Hello,

I have a Kenmore 500 Disposer 175.66554. I was running it the other day and the motor runs but the blades in the sink don't turn.

Is there a jam nut I can tighten or is it just time to replace the Disposer? I have never done this type of job and didn't want to jump in blind.

If I have to replace it will I have to rework the drain pipes or are most disposers the same? Will be be an easy replacement? I am good with tools and know basic electrical as the motor is hard wired. My only concern is if I will have to redo the drain system.

Any help will be greatly appreciated...

Thanks

At the age you describe, best to just replace.. If you arent mechincally inclined, would'nt attempt replacing it.
