Alternating flashing lights - normal for a while, then the lock light, and sometimes the heated dry light. I have tried all the remedies posted on this site, turned power on and off; alternated between two buttons to try to get diagnostics to run, but nothing seems to work... EXCEPT... once in a while the lock button stays on for a few seconds, and I can hold it for 5 seconds and it goes off, (as it is supposed to) and no lights are flashing, so I quickly hit normal and start and the machine works fine. Clean light comes on when wash cycle finishes.

But after opening the door and removing clean dishes, random flashing keeps going on between the normal, heated dry, and lock lights, with an occasional few minutes when nothing is lit. I suspect either a "stuck button" or the electronic control panel as the cause. How do I determine which one of those two parts is the cause and needs to be replaced?

I have removed the control panel - no visible corrosion; ribbon connecter to the electronic control looks good, too.

Any guidance you can provide as to which part needs replacing?

Thanks.

Here are your parts

Here is the tech sheet

Check the keypad switches with a meter.
If it checks out OK then probably the control board is the problem.
This is not 100% certain as it is always a bit of a crap shoot but at least your odds are better.
