I have a Whirlpool EV201NXMQ03 upright freezer manufactured 10/2004 that experienced a recent defrost heater failure. According to specs at appliancepartspro.com, I ordered Part number AP3872702 (8201747). However, when the part arrived it is quite different than the original pulled off the freezer. Three key differences (images below): 1) The new part is 2+ inches longer than the original. Right image below, new heater is on top. 2) The wiring harness is different (original has one end that terminates in a single round pin, the other end terminates in a male pin from 6-pin molex; new part has two spade ends) Wire lengths are quite a bit different. 3) Number on paper tag attached to heater is different (original: SWI VSS 3-80405-103, 430 Watts; new SWI 77284.003) Appliance Parts Pros.com service rep suggests I contact this forum to determine if these parts are indeed different because the part I ordered should be correct according to their diagrams. Any help? Chris

I would say you received the wrong part. If you look at the parts breakdown it is the same as your old one. Part number: AP3872702
The one they sent is not even close. |
