I have an electric whirlpool dryer. It all of a sudden started acting strange, and it doesn't do it all the time, but I would like to repair before it goes kaput. When I push the start button, it starts making a rumbling noise and only runs for about 10 seconds or so then cuts off. Then it will turn back on after about 2-5 minutes, sometimes cutting off and on many times by itself. It is heating and the drum is turning, but makes an off and on rumbling and squeaking noise as it dries. Seems that the squealing/rumbling would be maybe a belt or something but can't figure out how that would relate to the cutting on and off on it's own. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!!

Could be the roller supports going bad. If the wear is bad enough, it can put a bind on the motor and cause it to stall and cut off on overload. The rumbling noise can also be a loose blower wheel.
