Hi.

My dryer is taking quite some time to heat up. Usually between 30-40 min. Seemed to happen all at once. The dryer is in great shape. Any ideas? Worth fixing?

Thanks in advance!!!!

I would open it up and check the heating element, particularly if it is the original one. Over time the element gets brittle from heating and cooling.

If that is the problem, here is the replacement part.

Part number: AP4290655

and this fix is a lot less expensive than a new machine.

Dryers are very simple and a new basic one is no better than a 20 year old one.
