Hi, 1st time posting but have found lots of help here.

Issue: Maytag made "noise" and stopped spinning or slow spin.

Found threads on Thrust Washer kit and replaced it.

Spin worked again but not at full speed. Felt like brake was still catching.

Had independant tech come out and he says he is 100% sure it is a bad Transmission because the Agitator is working during the spin cycle.

We found out that our transmission has a 5yr warr. Yippee.
But we have to get a factory auth tech out for $130, but the part would be covered.

My question is, Does the transmission diagnosis sound right? I would hate to pay another service call if he was wrong.

Thanks

Well, I am not at 100% that the transmission is at fault, but very close to it.

This symptom is the classic for a failed transmission, so I would go for the replacement.
