The dryer stopped working I found a bad safety stat. I have shorted the wires to make it work and have ordered a replacement from your parts dept. While troubleshooting this I found a discoloration on the element cover, is that normal from the element heat or should I replace the element also? Thank you Mike S

A little discoloration is normal. Usually, it is caused by lint burning in or near the element housing. It is generally advised to either clean the lint out of the dryer body, or have a pro do it, at least once a year.
