After starting a new load in the Whirlpool Cabrio washer, 1 minuet into cycle the washer would stop and the minutes remaining display would not move. After running the automatic diagnostic i came away with an F-51 fault for motor RPS failure. I ran the manaul diagonostics for water valves, door lid, and motor spin/agitate and everything ran fine. I restarted the washer cycle and this time it ran all the way into the agitation stage. Then it showed an Sd error for sud detection or basket not engaging. I reset the machine again the original problem showed up again where it just stops 1 minute into the cycle and holds. my next step was to replace the control board, but i want to make sure this is the problem.

You are experiencing the main weakness in computer controls with diagnostics, which is, how does the microprocessor diagnose a problem when the microprocessor is the problem?

It sounds like your main board is the problem, but you will have to replace it to be certain. This is why service techs come to your house with a truck full of electronic replacement parts, they don't diagnose, they just keep replacing until the problem is fixed.

Good luck, hope that works.
