Maytag dryer works fine, drys as expected. In past couple of weeks, when dryer is cold, clothes loaded and drying cycle started, very loud squeal sound. Usually last for about 5 mins, then stops for rest of cycle.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I am going with the rear rollers. This service manual will show you how to change them out.

If you do it, make sure you clean out the lint in every place, particularly the lint chute and vents both internal and external.

Thanks for the help. I did pop off the top cover and turned unit on to try to get a better idea of where the noise was coming from. It was coming from the rear/right side. I think you are dead-on with the rollers.

Will post back when I am done with the replacement of the rollers.
